The Kissing Bunny Exhibit, in some cases known as the Rabbit Romeo, drew laughter due to its romantic appeal. The exhibits that toured the country often contained only a single rabbit in an exhibit box. The rabbit was trained to kiss a model rabbit's face. In the wild, rabbits will often “nuzzle" things with their noses; this behavior was capitalized upon in the kissing bunny exhibits In 1955 the act was known as “Sammy” and could be rented for $350 per week. |
